Château Palmer--Vintage 1983
1 dozen bottles per lot
MARGAUX CHÂTEAU PALMER Château Palmer takes its name from another Englishman, General Major Charles Palmer who fell in love with Bordeaux, interestingly enough, after fighting Napoleon in Spain. For the last 120 years, the Chardon family has run the estate (Claude Chardon currently is one of the few people to be lucky enough to taste Château Palmer's wine made by three generations) and has done exceedingly well. Palmer has long endeared itself to wine lovers who consistently pay prices that surpass those of its higher cru contemporaries. No doubt one of the sexiest wines of the left bank, Palmer adds more Merlot than any other Margaux for the combination of fleshy fat fruit tamed by a quintessential Margaux nose. Extremely long maceration periods and juice that is never filtered give additional dimension to the wines. Château Palmer--Vintage 1983 Cantenac (Margaux), 3me cru classé In original wooden case Levels: bottom neck or better 1 dozen bottles per lot
