FINE STOCKS OF MATURE CLASSIFIED BORDEAUX GROWTHS FEATURING SEVERAL TOP ST. EMILION, POMEROL AND SAUTERNES Property of a Southern California Gentleman & Lady Recently removed from a custom built home cellar maintaining excellent fine wine storage conditions by Christie's Wine Department specifically for this Historic Château Latour sale. Fine wine has featured on this Gentleman's table for many years, he has had the great honor of entertaining many of Bordeaux's most illustrious Châteaux owners and perhaps more significantly the entertainment of friends and family. His passion for fine wine and all that accompanies it will not subside as he has chosen to retain a good portion of the collection for his own consumption. Much of this collection has been purchased on release; several offered in their original wooden cases. In a few instances, as noted in the catalogue, the provenance come from lots purchased from the Henry E. Singleton collection which sold in Los Angeles April 2000 Château Latour--Vintage 1966 Pauillac, 1er cru classé Levels: five top and five upper shoulder; eleven slightly corroded capaules Recently tasted twice in September 2003 from two separate cellars. One first notices the amazing color for a wine of such advanced age--immortal like quality that is Latour I suppose. Very defined aromas but needs time to blossom; found one to be silky, fully integrated, rich texture, full flavored on the palate; the other more masculine in texture and personality. Found to be much better than the 1964 Latour, 1966 Haut Brion & Lafite which were also being served side by side. ST 10 bottles per lot
