Gothic letter, text with commentary surround, title printed in red and black with large grotesque initial L, woodcut illustration of a scribe on verso, woodcut device of Martin Alexandre within composite woodcut border at end, woodcut initials. (Marginal holes to title and A2, corner of A2 repaired, upper margin of FF8 renewed, light marginal dampstaining, some dust soiling.) Contemporary French blind-stamped sheep with two central rosette medallions surrounded by wide border of floral and star tools, printed index from a 16th-century book used as pastedowns (spine ends and edges repaired, some rubbing, a few wormholes). Provenance : Johannes Gastellinus, Lyonese Minorite friar, contemporary inscription on title, A2 and at end ( Sum fratris Johannis gastellini Minoritam...
