It seems to be flat and stable.Some cracks are slightly visible, but the painted surface seems to be in a good condition. We cannot seem to observe any loss or uplift.The varnish layer is clear.Under UV lightSome small areas of retouching are visible: around the man’s hand and hair; along a line of circa 15cm in the tree; and maybe a former restored crack along a line of circa 20cm below the branch in the upper right corner.Offered with a giltwood frame.Please note that Sotheby’s does not guarantee the condition of the frame.__________________________________________________________________ L’œuvre, en bon état général, se présente toujours sur sa toile d’origine. Le support semble sain et stable.On observe des craquelures légèrement visibles sur la couche picturale qui reste en bel état. On ne remarque ni manque, ni soulèvement visible.Le vernis est clair.A la lampe UVOn remarque quelques retouches de peu d’étendue visibles autour de la main et des cheveux de l’homme, le long d’une ligne d’environ 15cm dans l’arbre, et peut-être une déchirure ancienne restaurée le long d’une ligne d’environ 20 cm sous la branche en haut à droite.Vendu dans un cadre en bois doré.Veuillez noter que Sotheby’s ne garantit pas l’état des cadres.
