Charles Thomson (b.1953) Sir Nicholas Serota makes an Acquisitions Decision Limited edition print on canvas Signed Unframed 77cm x 102cm Together with a certificate of authenticity, numbering it 3/400 Thomson is an English artist, poet and photographer. In the early 1980's he was a member of the Medway Poets. In 1999 he named and co-founded the 'Stuckists' art movement with Billy Childish a name coined from an insult from Tracey Emin to her ex-boyfriend Childish that he was 'stuck'. Thomson's sometimes contraversial curriculum vitae has included a brief marriage to the artist Stella Vine, curating Stuckist exhibitions, organising demonstrations against the Turner Prize, standing for Parliament and reporting Charles Saatchi to the OFT. Thomson's satirical painting of the same title, painted in 2000, has been widely reproduced in the media and become a Stuckist icon. It was exhibited in 2006 in 'Stuckists Go West' Exhibition, Spectrum London Gallery. Please note: This lot may be eligible for Droit de Suite
