Charles George Gordon 1879 (25 December) two page quarto size autograph letter signed "CG Gordon" , headed "En Route from Suakin to Suez" ; addressed to Carl Geiger (Director of the Sudan Posts and Telegraphs at Khartoum), the letter deals with many administrative problems "..give kind regards to Slatin the only good fellow in Darfur...I can see there is no hope with the Soudan unless someone well supported in Govr. Genl." . The letter is accompanied by the original envelope and cancelled at Suez (1.1.80) and Cairo (3.1). A lovely letter of historical interest. Photo
