CARTIER VERY RARE GOLD OPENFACE MINUTE REPEATING SPLIT CHRONOGRAPH signed E.W. & Co., Inc. on the movement and case, signed Cartier on the dial, with handstamped reference number 11480, 1920 The substantial 18K gold case, with initials on the back lid, is marked with the handstamped numbers 11480 and E.W. & C. Co. Inc., France, 55mm. diam. The matte dial signed Cartier has two subsidiary dials for 30-minute register and continuous seconds, bold roman numerals with arabic numeral five-minute divisions, and blued steel hands. The Audemars movement with 39 jewels, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring, and adjustments for heat, cold, five positions and isochronism, is distinctively finished with the split chronograph mechanism mounted on the top plate by and signed European Watch & Clock Co, Inc., Swiss
