The famous Mexican actress, nicknamed La Doña after her role in the 1943 film Doña Bárbara, adored the work of Cartier and once notoriously brought in a baby crocodile to one of their Maisons in order to commission a bespoke necklace in the form of two diamond set articulated crocodiles. The current range takes inspiration from this legend and the links of the La Dona bracelets evoke the form of crocodile hide.
