CAREL BLAZER 50 Jaar Bruynzeel 1897-1947 -- 50 Years of Bruynzeel 1897-1947 . Text by Martin Redeke. Zaandam: Bruynzeel, 1947. Quarto (314 x 240mm). 156 black and white photographs, and 25 colour illustrations. Original grey boards and grey cloth spine, front cover and spine lettered in gold, illustrated endpapers, original plain paper dust-jacket, original shipping carton (endpapers lightly browned, dust-jacket with a few short tears, carton crudely repaired with tape). Provenance : W. de Jong (signatures). FIRST EDITION, IN THE RARE DUST-JACKET and in the original shipping carton. 'A fine early example of the way Dutch graphic designers eagerly grasped the opportunities that had been cut short by World War II'; Carel Blazer was 'a leading light in the Underground Camera and the radical GKf Group of documentary photographers' ( The Photobook ).
