An Historical Record of the Royal Regiment of Horse Guards, or Oxford Blues . London: William Clowes, 1834 [ with :] 1st-11th and 13th-17th cavalry regiments, The First or The Royal Regiment of Dragoons , Second Dragoons or Scots Greys , Fourth or Royal Irish Dragoon Guards , Sixth Inniskilling Dragoons [ plus :] 1st-24th, 40th, 53rd, 56th, 61st, 67th, 70th and 72nd foot regiments [ and :] Cape Mounted Riflemen . Together 55 volumes, 8° (210 x 130mm). Lithographic plates, most hand-coloured. (Very occasional faint offsetting and browning.) All finely bound in contemporary straight-grained morocco, gilt decorative covers, gilt edges (extremities lightly rubbed). Provenance : Lord FitzRoy Somerset (later 1st Baron Raglan, ownership inscription to front pastedowns) -- modern armorial bookplates.
