Beschreibung:

.30-06 caliber, 26" barrel, S/N 958965 (ca. Sept. 1918). Blued finish with grooved military stock. Eddystone-marked front sight with Eddystone-marked rear sight. Barrel shows Eddystone manufacture markings, flaming bomb, and "7-18" manufacturer date. Receiver marked with model, manufacturer and serial number. Receiver marked with broad arrow acceptance stamp. Right side of buttstock shows Canadian War Department acceptance marking as well as "32TC/736" unit marking. Stock shows painted red/orange band indicating chambering for the .30-06 cartridge. Bottom of barrel shows C.A.I. import address. 100,000 U.S. Model 1917 rifles were purchased by the Canadian Government during the Second World War, and were issued for training prior to deployment. Unit markings on this piece likely indicate issue to No. 32 Training Command in Peterborough, Ontario. Condition: Good. Most of the blued finish remains with some scratching and wear to finish on sharp edges and working parts. Stock has belmishes consistent with surplus arms but is free of serious cracks, splits, and other major damage. Markings are crisp. Bore is good; somewhat bright with some old pitting and visible rifling.
