Circa 1925. An early-made 28 gauge game gun with 2 sets (26" and 24") of blued "VULCAN STEEL" barrels. Barrels are fit with 2 - 1/2" chambers, ejectors and are on a 00 frame as stamped. Barrels are marked with Meriden, Connecticut address and “Vulcan Steel” on concave matted machined rib. Ribs with white and off-white round mid and front sight beads. Barrel flats are stamped with steel type (V) and weight. Serial number "213083" is on left side of lump. (A) 26" have fixed chokes being Full and Improved Modified (B) 24" have fixed chokes of Improved Modified and Modified. Silvered hammerless boxlock action features automatic safety (SAFE engraved) and double triggers. Action with light wiggle border engraving. “Parker Bros” is on each side. Water table is stamped with "VH" and serial number. Faded blue trigger guard with border engraving has "213083" on tang. Straight grain American walnut stock with strong checkered pistol hand grip is furnished with "PARKER BROS MERIDEN, CONN grip cap. Stock is also fit with vacant shield for initials and an orange ventilated Hawkins pad. Gun and barrels are furnished with two individual splinter forends with Deeley-styled releases. Interior iron metal is case colored and the (B) is also stamped with a "2" under the serial number to identify use on correct barrel. Gun and barrels are housed and travel in a beige-colored soft case. CONDITION: Very Good. Both sets of barrels with lots of original color remaining. Both sets of barrels with some handling marks from use. The 26" barrel with a small ding on left barrel. Action, triggers and ejectors are mechanically sound. Action and other metal parts with total loss of case colors. Stock with some handling marks and orange pad showing its age, but still soft. Forends are both good with some handling marks. Fun set up!
