[13th Century], in Latin in cursive documentary scripts, concerning lands granted to Peter Taylur of Aston Sandford, each in return for an unspecified sum of money for lands 'to be held of the lord in chief of the fee as a demesne thereby owing customary services'. BUCKINGHAMSHIRE -- Aston Sandford and Waldridge. Two related documents on vellum, n.d. [13th Century], in Latin in cursive documentary scripts, concerning lands granted to Peter Taylur of Aston Sandford, each in return for an unspecified sum of money for lands 'to be held of the lord in chief of the fee as a demesne thereby owing customary services'. The documents comprise: Grant by Richard de Essendon to Peter le Taylur son of Thomas le Taylur of Estone Samford [Aston Sandford] of an acre of arable land in the vill of Aston Samford with appurtenances and liberties together with 2 pence rent owed by Walter Rorkil for a croft and three halfpennies by Thomas Taylur for the acre of land, the witnesses including Richard de Turs of Turesheye, John son of William de Hadenham, Robert de Mersch, Walter Parage of Turesheye and William de Cotes of Aston Sandford, 14 lines on one membrane, approx 105 x 210mm (stamped number '5'), attractive signet seal of Richard de Essendon with stag's head and cross in green wax, 35 x 20mm, pendant on vellum tag; Grant by Henry le Frankeleyn of Waldridge to Peter le Taylur of Aston of three roods of arable land in the west fields of Waldridge at Le Manyneldene between the lands of Richard Frydey and Richard Basely, the witnesses including the Lord Henry de Bruly, Robert Pykot, Richard Porch of Ilmer, Richard le Orpede of the same and Alexander le Baynile of Waldridge, 9 lines on one membrane, approx 71 x 210mm , vesical seal of Henry le Frankeleyn with fleur-de-lys in green wax, 45 x 25mm, pendant on vellum tag; [ together with ] a document of Radulf and Elizabeth Arches, granting seisin of the manor of Eastbury, [Berkshire], to a number of parties, 12 June 1408, one membrane, 213 x 300mm , two seals in red wax (one fragmentary) pendant on vellum tags.
