Brooklands BARC Easter Meeting 1913 - a fine and large silver trophy cup by William Comyns of London , awarded to the winner of the Easter Sprint (Handicap) Race; of classical form having scroll pattern handles with embossed relief acanthus leaf decoration and with engraved initials of the Brooklands Automobile Racing Club above the inscription "1st Prize The Easter Sprint Race - 24 March 1913" awarded to Mr. WR Tuck, the winner on his 13.9hp Humber machine; stamped makers mark and silver assay marks for London 1912 . Height 9ins (24cm). Footnote: The race was over two miles for cars capable of flying laps at over 70mph. Starting from the limit-mark on 35 seconds, Tuck held the lead to win by a narrow margin from Jules Goux on the 30hp Peugeot (scratch-mark start) whilst Malcolm Campbell finished in 3rd place on his Darracq "Bluebird III" (33sec). "The Entrant of the winning car to receive a Cup value £25".
