BROOKE, RUPERT Autograph letter signed ("Rupert Brooke"), 2 pp. addressed to "Harold," certainly Harold Edward Monro of The Poetry Review, from 24 Britton Road, Rugby, dated 28.9.12. 11 1/2 x 9 inches (29 x 23 cm), approximately 25 lines. Minor soiling and wear, one inch separation at right of center fold; Together with two fine vintage photographs of Brooke, gelatin silver prints, the largest 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches (24 x 19 cm). Fine condition. Brooke agrees to write an essay on Lascelles Abercrombie for Monro's The Poetry Review. This (a typed copy of which is enclosed), was a rebuttal of an attack made by Ezra Pound on Abercrombie and others in the October number of the Review.
