BRITISH ROYALTY FROM THE 17TH TO THE 19TH CENTURIES] A collection of signatures of British Monarchs, from Charles II to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, comprising CHARLES II (1630-1685) Fragment of a document on wove paper, signed 'Charles R' at the head, laid down on paper, with engraved plate depicting William III wearing the Order of the Garter on the verso. WILLIAM III (1650-1702) A warrant on paper for payment from the Privy Purse to Sir Thomas Littleton Bart., Speaker of the House of Commons, dated 19th April 1689, folio, signed 'William R' at the head and bearing the signature of Charles Montague, Earl of Halifax, laid down on paper, with extensive annotations and two sections of engraved plates depicting William III on the verso, with a note stating the provenance from the sale of Sir Thomas Phillip's papers (on two pages, creased on folds, light staining). MARY II (1662-1694) Ten lines of a document on paper appointing commissioners to execute the 'Act for Examining, Taking and Stating the Publick Accompts of this Kingdome', signed 'Marie R' at the head, laid down on paper, extensively annotated in a later hand, with a note on the verso stating the provenance from the sale of Sir Thomas Phillips' papers. GEORGE I (1660-1727) Fragment of a warrant on wove paper, signed 'George R' at the head, dated 29th Sept. 1714, laid down on paper. GEORGE II (1683-1760) Document on vellum, partly printed with manuscript insertions, signed 'George R' at the head, from St James's, dated 31st December 1744, 4, appointing Christopher Parker Gent. as Lieutenant in the Regiment of Horse commanded by John Brown Esq in Ireland, countersigned by 'Devonshire' (creased on folds, slightly marked). GEORGE III (1738-1820) Document on vellum, partly printed with manuscript insertions, signed 'George R' at the head, from St James's, dated 19th July 1803, 4, appointing Alexander Watt Gent. as First Lieutenant in the Trinity House Royal Volunteer Artillery, countersigned by 'York' [Frederick Augustus], (creased on folds, marked). GEORGE IV (1762-1830) Cut signature on wove paper, laid down on paper. WILLIAM IV (1765-1837) Certificate of Registry, partly printed with manuscript insertions, signed 'William R', issued at the Port of London, 25th September 1827, 4, regarding the vessel Anne (creased on folds). QUEEN VICTORIA (1819-1901); & PRINCE ALBERT (1819-1861) Cut signature on paper 'Victoria R', dated '1884' in another hand, laid down on paper; with inscription and signature 'Lt. Col: The Hon: Ch. B Phipps/Albert' on a mourning envelope with black Royal seal, attached to the verso. (9)
