British Commonwealth extensive and extremely valuable largely mint collection housed in bound two volume New Imperial Stanley Gibbons albums, these albums are designed for the British Commonwealth having spaces for each country's stamps on the right page with illustrations and descriptions of the stamps on the left facing pages, they cover the issues to 1936 so there is nothing later found in them, contained in in these albums are literally thousands of different mint stamps from over 100 different countries (there is no Great Britain proper included), there is far too much to be specific about all the better material here but a description of how the collector concentrated in his collecting efforts will give one an idea of the treasures to be found here, the vast majority are collected mint, this means that most countries start in earnest in the later 19th century, there are some earlier issues in some countries and some of these issues are found used in a few countries such as New Zealand and Hong Kong, each country becomes quite comprehensive with the late Queen Victoria sets, the King Edward VII and George V issues are very extensive, often with complete sets and include numerous shilling and pound high values, each country is collected much the same so the more stamps the country issued in the 1880-1936 period determines its significance but some of the better countries we note include Canada and Newfoundland in British North America, British Europe has good Cyprus, Gibraltar and Ireland, Caribbean Islands include excellent Barbados and Cayman Islands as well as Bermuda, Asia includes extensive Ceylon, Hong Kong and Straits Settlements, Rhodesia stands out in the African area and there are nice collections of Australia and New Zealand plus Falkland Islands, condition is excellent with virtually all mint with o.g. neatly hinged on the pages, where the occasional stamp in the early period was collected that had a fault or was without gum it was not counted or greatly reduced in value, condition can accurately be described as uniformly fine-very fine with very few exceptions; the collector was a careful collector of this area with accurate identification and he kept a meticulous record of the catalog value by country in both the 2014 Stanley Gibbons with a total of over £240,000 and the 2015 Scott Classic Specialized with a total of over $285,000.00; this collection presents an excellent opportunity to acquire a significant portion of the better period of the British Commonwealth and needs to be examined to be truly appreciated.
