Beschreibung:

[16] pp. (4to) 28x22 cm (11x8"), stapled wrappers, pictorial cover. First Edition. A one shot poetry magazine published and edited by Richard Brautigan and poet Ron Loewinsohn in San Francisco, 1963. Also included is the rare mailing announcement for the magazine. One side bears the pictorial cover of the magazine, the other a prospectus for the publication. This copy bearing a cancelled stamp, and is addressed to Lita Hornick of Kulchur magazine, with a short handwritten note by her. The cover photograph features a young, short-haired Brautigan and a handsomely suited Loewinsohn. The issue features the first appearance of Brautigan's short story 'Coffee', and features work by Loewinsohn, Philip Whalen, Joanne Kyger and Richard Duerden. The poets seemed to have envisioned the magazine having an extended life, as they sold subscriptions prior to the first issue, but no future issues appeared, reportedly due to Loewinsohn finding Brautigan difficult to work with. A wonderful piece of Brautigan/San Francisco ephemera.
