A very fine, large and impressive 18K gold, enamel and pearl-set openface duplex watch with enamel attributed to Dupont, made for the Chinese Market Signed Bovet, London, No. 274, circa 1820 Bovet's finely chased and engraved floral decorated gilt-finished Chinese calibre, duplex escapement, large five arm steel balance, diamond endstone, engraved foliage and sunburst decorated gold cuvette, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, gold spade hands, large subsidiary seconds, substantial circular case, turquoise enamel bezel and rim set with alternating split pearls in sizes, translucent scarlet and blue champlevé enamel and split pearl-set band, similarly decorated pendant, translucent scarlet enamel and pearl-set bow, finely painted polychrome enamel miniature depicting a loving couple to the reverse, attributed to Jean-François-Victor Dupont, case stamped with casemaker's initials IE and numbered 1330, movement signed and numbered Bovet London 274 57 mm. diam.
