Stair study. 1950s. Vintage ferrotyped gelatin silver print on Agfa-Brovira-Rapid paper. 23,5 x 18 cm. Annotated in ink by the photographer, as well as photographer's Stgt.-Wangen Wasenstr. 4 stamp on the verso. Robert Bothner was employed as master photographer at the Landesbildstelle Württemberg in Stuttgart from 1927 - 1963. Between 1925 - 1927 he travelled through Italy and France taking photos with his 9 x 12 camera. He also worked in Russia during WWII as a war correspondent for the German air force. His photographs are often marked by technical and compositional perfection and his work was published in "Das Deutsche Lichtbild" 1936, 1937 and 1957. – A few light surface abrasions, otherwise in near excellent condition. Provenance: The estate of the photographer.
