Botherolepis canadensis Late Devonian Escuminac Formation, Miguasha Bay, Quebec, Canada This bottom dwelling armored fish species, a Placoderm, displayed a small head with eyes on top. Botherolepis would have hugged the ocean floor like a stingray and may have used its long armored arms for locomotion. There are several orders of Placoderms; Botherolepis canadensis belongs to the Antiarcha, Family Bothriolepidae. The present specimen, prepared within the nodule in which it was discovered, displays intricately preserved ornamentation of its armor and nice preservation of the arms. Measures 5.75 x 6.75in;
