Byron" (15/- on 11 December 1824), and many periodicals such as The Quarterly; purchases for the Benevolent Society (running from 1806) including a good many plays and a quantity of music and songs, "British Poets" (at £21-17-0), cyclopaedias, "Female Quixote" (3/- for the book, 1/6 for binding), histories, "Teignmouth to Wordsworth", "Burns' Works", etc.; purchases for the Sunday School including "270 Portraits purchased from Jas Westell, of Rochdale", "paper for 40 bags", "Music 'Lord have Mercy &c'", "2 dozn Copy books", "1 dozn Watts Catechisms", "100 Labels of 'Approbation'", and further printed books; the bills pinned into a large folio volume (those for the Benevolent Society and Sunday School reversed at the end, although the categories appear to intermingle), vellum wrappers, upper cover inscribed "Accounts of Reading Society/ Benevolent Society/ Sunday School", dust-staining to wrapper, light spotting elsewhere, but the receipts overall in fine and fresh condition, folio, 1806-1826
