Original boards, upper cover with letterpress title label, modern cloth box (neatly rebacked, later free endpapers). Provenance : Gredington Library (inscription, dated 1811). FIRST EDITION. This work was originally issued in 17 parts, then on completion of the parts issue was offered either in 2 volumes at 10 guineas per volume, or, as here, in a single volume at 20 guineas.
