[ Bound with :] Deborah Dent and her Donkey; and Madam Fig's Gala: Two Humourous Tales, London: A. K. Newman & Co., [c.1830]. 18 hand-coloured wood-engraved illustrations including 2 as a frontispiece, 2-page Darton catalogue at end. (Frontispiece to first work torn without loss at gutter, some spotting and light mainly marginal staining.) 2 works in one vol., 8° (161 x 100mm). Contemporary green cloth, red morocco lettering-piece (rubbed). Provenance : John Board Westerham (early inscription on front pastedown). Neither edition in Osborne (the first not listed in any edition). Osborne II, 632 lists a Field & Tuer reprint of Deborah Dent and her Donkey of 1887, mentioning an 1823 Dean & Munday edition in the footnote. With 10 other early or mid-19th century children's books including The Puzzling-Cap: a Choice Collection of Riddles, in Familiar Verse; with a Curious Cut to Each (London, 1806), Uncle Buncle's New Stories about Animals (London, [n.d.], original wrappers), Uncle Buncle's Pretty Tales (London, [n.d.], original wrappers) and 4 vols. (only) of The Infant's Library (London, c.1800). (11)
