Provenance : William Van Mildert (armorial bookplate) -- Estelle Doheny (morocco bookplate; purchased from Maggs Bros., London, 16 August 1944) -- donated to SMS 1944. The most inclusive of the great Polyglots since the London, or Walton's, Polyglot of 1657 (see preceding lot). It contains the Old and New Testaments in eight languages, with the Samaritan Pentateuch and the Syrian New Testament added as an appendix. Darlow & Moule 1456.
