(Lacking a total of 18 leaves and the map, that is: the preliminaries lack the general title and leaves A4, B1-4, C1-6, A2-3 present but detached and worn; 'Genealogies' lacks the map and C1-5; 'New Testament' lacks the last leaf Aa6; faint dampstain throughout, G1 in O.T. and T1 in N.T. with long tears, some leaves detached and creased these with some tears and small losses.) Contemporary blind-tooled calf (worn, dampstained, somewhat defective). Provenance : Alkin family (front endpaper inscribed by various owners c.17-19th century)

This Authorised Version, the work of over 40 translators divided into five committees based at Oxford, Cambridge and London, undoubtedly has had a greater influence on written and spoken English than any other book.
