Some minimal wear to this enormous volume, overall near fine. Sold with a copy of the small-format publication of the same name and date, a fine copy warmly inscribed by Joseph Widener. The collection was given to the National Gallery of Art, and was installed there in 1942. The Widener gift was announced by President Franklin D. Roosevelt at the Gallery's opening ceremony.
