Lot of 4, all ca February 1889, one month before Harrison's inauguration, including: a Benjamin Harrison TLS as president-elect, Feb. 8, 1889, at Indianapolis, IN, on personal stationary showing his Indianapolis address, addressed to Jacob Frech, Jr., thanking him for honorary membership in the Harrison Club of Cincinnati and declining a speaking engagement at the club on Feb. 12, the 80th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth, signed Benj Harrison in black ink; the corresponding envelope; the letter from Mr. French which elicited Harrison's response, dated Feb. 4, 1889, on Harrison Club stationary, describing the founding of the club and the details of the speaking engagement; and a letter from Mr. Frech to Mayor of Cincinnati Amor Smith, Jr., thanking him for speaking in place of Harrison. Condition: Very good condition.
