Collation: A-C 8 D 4 (A1r title, A1v Quintus Aemilianus's hendecasyllabic, A2r dedication to Senator Giacomo Contarini, A4r table, A4v text, D3r colophon, D3v errata, D4 blank). 27 leaves (of 28, without final blank). 36 lines and headline. Type: 23:82R b , 80 Greek. 3- to 6- line initial spaces, mostly with guide-letter. (Neat backing and restorations to the internal margin of the first and last leaves, marginal notes, very small wormhole slightly affecting first 5 leaves.) Modern vellum. FIRST EDITION of Benedetti's work on the plague, discussing all aspects of the pestilence, including details of the official measures for its prevention that were instituted at Venice. Benedetti studied and later taught medicine at Padua and served as a surgeon in the Venetian Army during the campaign of 1495 against the French.
