This edition follows the first edition of Artaria from the summer of 1795, and two later issues from the autumn of that year and the winter of 1795/96. Ludwig van Beethoven. Thematisch-bibliographisches Werkverzeichnis, i (2014), p. 7, records issues of the Simrock print with three different prices, of which the present one is probably the earliest. An attractive copy, originally belonging to Betty Pistor (1808-1887), an early sweetheart of Mendelssohn. LITERATURENot in Hoboken.
