Meyer Collection. first edition, with the foot of the spine reading 'the reilly & britton co.'; fifth line of 'author's note' on p.11 has the 'o' in 'ozma; the publisher's advertisements facing the half-title page and at the rear flyleaf lists two titles : The Land of Oz and John Dough and the Cherub . Along with The Patchwork Girl of Oz, the present volume is the most lavishly illustrated of all the Oz books, with full page and textual pictures throughout.
