Some wear to joints, a few minor restorations on the first and final leaves (and some very subtle ministrations at a few other spots), overall a very attractive copy. The more commonly encountered editions of Comines from this period are those by Galliot du Pre in Paris. The present edition (which is excessively rare) was the subject of a monograph first published in the Bulletin du Bibliophile by the great French bibliographer Claudin, Un typographe Rouennais oublie: maitre J.G., imprimeur d'une edition de Commines en 1525. Claudin identified J.G. as Jacques Gentil. A copy of this monograph (inscribed by Claudin) is included with the lot. C
