BARCELONA 1761. Reales exequias, que a su Augusta Soberana da Maria Amalia de Saxonia Reina de Espanña . Barcelona: Maria Teresa Vendréll y Texidó, 1761. 4to (198 x 143 mm). 5 engraved folding plates by FRANCISCO BOIX and IGNACIO VALLS after FRANCISCO and MANUEL TRAMULLAS (the largest with tear repaired and slight loss), 27 woodcut emblematic illustrations in text. Contemporary vellum. Rare work commemorating the funeral rites and ceremonies in 1761 for MARíA AMALIA (1724-1760), Queen, consort of Charles III, King of Spain. With 27 woodcut armorial devices and emblems of provinces, countries, and continents under Spanish rule (the last representing America), and 5 engraved plates by Francisco Boix and Ignacio Valls after designs by Francisco and Manuel Tramullas. The plates by Tramulles include a splendid representation of the catafalque. The "Oracion funebre" at end is by Ramón Foxà (1729-1796) and had a separate divisional title-page. With the license permitting publication of the "Oracion funebre" dated 27 January 1762 and pasted on final leaf verso. Palau 251917 ("raro"); Vinet 572 ("fort rare").
