In-4° (mm 270x215). Pagine [4], xx, 101, [1] con 12 tavole incise in rame fuori testo finemente colorate all'epoca, alcune protette da veline. Antiporta incisa in rame protetta da velina. Piatto anteriore staccato, per il resto buon esemplare. Legatura coeva in mezza pelle, piatti marmorizzati, titoli in oro su tassello al dorso. Difetti alle cerniere. Edizione originale di quest'opera del naturalista britannico James Barbut Barbut era anche pittore e alla sua mano si devono le illustrazioni tratte dal vero contenute in questo trattato di cui il presente esemplare contiene la prima parte. Una seconda - The genera vermium of Linnaeus part 2. Exemplified by several of the rarest and most elegant subjects in the orders of the Testacea, Lithophyta, and Zoophyta animalia - apparve cinque anni dopo, nel 1788. 4°(270x215 mm). [4], xx, 101, [1] pages with 2 copper engraved plates out of text finely colored at the time, some protected by tissue paper. Copper engraved frontispiece protected by tissue paper. Detached the front cover, otherwise a fair copy. Contemporary half-leather, marbled covers, gilt titles on littering piece on the spine. Damages to the hings. Original edition of this work by the British naturalist James Barbut Barbut was also a painter and he made the illustrations contained in this writing of which the present copy contains the first part. A second part - The genera vermium of linnaeus part 2. Exemplified by several of the rarest and most elegant subjects in the orders of the Testacea, Lithophyta, and Zoophyta animalia - appeared five years later, in 1788.
