Original colour illustrated wrappers (extremities rubbed, some wear, some issues with tears to the spine, one issue with some marginal loss). Provenance : a few issues with ownership signatures or stamps. A collection of annuals mostly for the American tour of the Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo, and its related companies, while under the direction of Colonel de Basil, Sergei Denham, and Leonide Massine. Including the annual for the Jubilee season at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and that for the 1932 season in Paris. All in the original covers illustrated after designs by Matisse, Bérard, Cecil Beaton, and others, and a number of these designed by Alexey Brodovitch The 1959-60 annual is SIGNED BY MANY OF THE COMPANY MEMBERS, INCLUDING STARS NINA NOVAK, GEORGE ZORITCH, AND NATHALINE KRASSOVSKA. With: a file of 8 publicity photographs of dancers (each 255 x 205mm), all but one stamped on the verso, including: Alexandra Danilova, Nathalie Krassovska, 2 of Tatiana Riabouchinska (ONE SIGNED), 2 of Anton Dolin (ONE SIGNED), and Oleg Tupine.
