Title within a typographical border, with the initial and final blank (minor flaw in I1 with loss of a few letters, light waterstaining and a little browning). Contemporary sheep (spine worn, covers detached). STC 1151; Gibson 17. MONTAGU, Richard. De originibus ecclesiasticis commentationum tomus primus , London: Miles Flesher and Robert Young 1636. 2° (287 x 175mm). Title in red and black with woodcut device (lightly browned throughout). Contemporary sprinkled calf (hinges worn, some of label missing). Provenance : J. Wynn, 1699 (ownership inscription at head of title); Lord Egerton of Tatton, 1896 (presentation bookplate). FIRST EDITION. STC 18034; and 7 others. (9)
