First and only edition of a collection of charts depicting ports and harbours on the Mediterranean. Including charts of Marseille, Îles Sainte-Marguerite, Antibes, Monaco, Naples, Barcelona, Livorno, Corsica, Majorca and many others. Shirley and NMM call for the engraved title and 80 further plates, while Phillips and Polak call for the title and 79 plates, as here. NMM 206; Phillips Atlases 187; Polak 300; Shirley BL M.AYR-1a. Quarto (325 x 261mm). Engraved double-page title, 79 double-page engraved plates, 3 of which folding, comprising 69 charts and 10 plates of coastal profiles (some offsetting, a few light spots, ‘Golfe de Marseille’ chart partially torn along fold). Contemporary mottled calf, French royal arms gilt on covers, anchor and fleur-de-lis motifs on spine (a few scratches, restored at spine, joints and extremities slightly affecting gilt arms).
