4.8" x 5.5" on original card stock mount (6.75" x 8.5"), of Dillingham seated in a carved armchair with one leg over arm and large pipe in mouth, reverse with pencil inscription From W.W. Dillingham/To his Friend Bee Ho G(ray)/4-6-1914/Florence SC. W.W. Dillingham also called Dillie or Dilly was a cowboy who worked for most of the Wild West shows and later with film stars such as Tom Mix and others. Bee Ho Gray joined the 101 Ranch in 1907, also worked in the early Western Film industry and Vaudeville, primarily as a trick rope expert, but also skilled knife thrower and bull whip handler. This group also includes photocopies of articles on both Gray and Dillingham and a copy of a periodical entitled Westerner, Spring of 1976 with an article on Dillingham and Wyoming Bill. Condition: Trimmed along bottom margin of card with loss of end of 2nd line of inscription, else VG.
