A collection of approximately 23 letters and documents, most referring to the affairs of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, in Italian, French and Latin, 16th-19th century, signatories including: MARGARET OF AUSTRIA (1522-1586, Duchess of Parma, Governor of the Netherlands and illegitimate daughter of Charles V, letter signed, 1557, after a visit to Brussels, referring to her finances and to officials); JOSEPH BONAPARTE as King of Naples (to his Secretary of State, Ricciardi, 1808, referring to the Council and judicial matters); Anna Maria Luisa de' Medici, Electress Palatine (sending good wishes to the King of the Two Sicilies, 1736, with separate address leaf); Eleonora Gonzaga, wife Ferdinand II de' Medici (an apologetic letter to the King of the Two Sicilies, 1737, possibly autograph, dampstained); Emmanuel de Rohan-Polduc (four letters signed as Grand Master of the Knights of Malta to Sir John Acton Prime Minister of Naples, 1785-97); and the Rector and Council of the Republic of Ragusa [Dubrovnik] (four letters, 1770-89); altogether approximately 18½ pages, folio and quarto ; together with 11 other items on paper or vellum (including three printed documents), some relating to matters in France and Venice (occasional slight wear).
