AUTOGRAPH BOOK OF ORIGINAL SKETCHES BY IMPORTANT FIGURES IN ANIMATION. Autograph book of animator Sid Pillet featuring approximately 70 sketches, each on 4 by 6 inch leaf, in a variety of mediums, including pencil, pen & ink, and pastel, most signed by the artist, 1933 to 1943, some paste action to nearly all leaves, approximately 40 leaves loose from original binding, some chipping and toning throughout. This unusual item features original sketches and cartoons by early animators of the Disney studio and other animation houses, collected by animator Sid Pillet, a Disney animator who worked with Walter Lantz on several Woody Woodpecker cartoons. Most of the drawings feature caricatures of Pillet, and range from the sweetly nave to downright risqu.
