Aulophyseter morricei Middle Miocene Round Mountain Silt, Shark Tooth Hill Bone Bed, Bakersfield, Kern County, California Aulophyseter morricei was first described in 1927 based on a skull, an ear bone and four rather robust teeth with enamel-covered crowns. It was later determined that the teeth belonged to other toothed whales and sea lions, with the actual teeth of A. physeter being long and thin, lacking enamel-covered crowns. Offered is a well-preserved skull with minor restoration. This skull was recently on exhibit at the Buena Vista Museum of Natural History in Bakersfield, California.
