Early 18th-century Italian vellum with morocco label, blue edges (spine rubbed and chipped, corners bumped). Provenance : Giaco[mo] Soranzo (ownership inscription, dated 1727, on front free endpaper) -- W.W. Hall, Lincoln's Inn (19th-century inscription on free endpaper and first leaf of text). FIRST EDITION IN ITALIAN, printed in small text type by Antonio Miscomini, son of Bartolomeo da Bologna. Although the book was assigned to Miscomini's Florentine press by Proctor, it has subsequently been regarded as printed at Venice for the reasons stated in BMC. In this copy, the translation has been attributed to Brother Jacopo Passavarti in an inscription on H11v.
