St. Huberty", 10.5 cm (4in) high; together with a silhouette of Captain Burton, 1800 in a square maple frame, 9 x 8 cm (3.5 x 3in) (2) watercolour Provenance: The portrait of Mlle. Saint-Huberty was from the Andrew Meyer Collection; he attributed the portrait to Louise Carmontelle; From the collection of the late Christopher Hogwood, CBE Mademoiselle de Saint Huberty created Melisse for Gluck in his Opera 'Armide'. She also sang in Gluck's 'Alceste', and performed as Angelique in Piccini's 'Roland'. She created the title role of Piccino's Didon in 1783.
