Assembled English George III Style Sterling Silver Tea Service Largely Crichton, London, 1916 In the manner of Robert Adam comprising a teapot, coffee pot, cream jug, covered sugar bowl, waste bowl, and kettle on stand, each of vasiform, with applied band of scrolls and tied medallions with a classical figure, on a square base. Height of coffee pot 11 inches (28 cm), total approximately 139 ounces, all in. C Estate of Percy Rivington and Evelyn Sloane Pyne
Generally good condition overall; each monogram "ENS" to shoulder; light surface marking as expected from casual use; good detail to decoration except as noted below Kettle - Crichton, London, 1916 - wooden kettle handle broken and lacking burner; stand with cancelled marks, but the pins hallmarked; one chain loose Coffee pot - Crichton, London, 1913 - lacking wood finial Cream jug - Worcester Silver Co., London, 1958 - rubbing to the figure in medallion Waste - Crichton, London, 1916 - rubbing to figure in medallion Covered sugar bowl - Crichton, London, 1916 - rubbing to figure in medallion Teapot - Worcester Silver Co., London, 1958
