Artemidorus' work on the interpretation of dreams is the most important ancient work on this subject. His sources included the writings of previous authors, especially Democritus and Aristotle, as well as his own collection of dreams. The Christian Neoplatonist Synesius was also interested in the occult and in divination by dreams.
