binding: Contemporary Italian gilt-tooled russet morocco (170 x 106 mm), outer border composed of a repeated round leafy tool, central panel with a diamond-shaped inner section with four small leaf tools, lettered ARISTO DE PLATIS at head of upper cover, spine with blind fillet decoration, stubs from four pairs of ties, edges gilt and gauffered to a knotwork design. (Binding somewhat worn with areas of damage at head of spine and corners, gilding mostly rubbed, textblock starting to split, a few wormholes in binding.)
