With works by Galenus (A.D. 129-?199), Theophrastus (ca. 370- ca. 287 B.C.), Philo Judaeus (ca. 30 B.C.-A.D. 45), Alexander Aphrodisiensis (fl. early 3rd century A.D.) and others, edited by Aldus, Thomas Linacre, Justin Decadyos, Gabriel Braccius and others. Venice: Aldus Manutius 1st November 1495, February 1497, 29th January 1497, 1st June 1497, June 1498, five parts in 5 volumes, median 2°, editio princeps of all texts, numerous woodcut floral and interlaced headpieces and Greek initials. Part I, 233 leaves only (of 234, lacking final leaf, s6, each leaf with paper repair at inner margin, excepting last leaf s5 with laminated repair, in the case of a few leaves the repair affects the first character of each line of text, library blind stamp on title and cancellation stamp on title verso, accession stamp at foot of A2, G8v and a1r slightly soiled, p8 torn at inner margin, blind stamp repeated on s5, verso of s5 soiled), late 19th-century half morocco covers (detached), edges gilt.
