An elegant Venetian edition printed in 1500 of this second part of Appianus' complete work "Historia romana" which follows the first of 1472 published in Venice by Vindelino Spira. It is a vital source for the restless and violent years that preceded the solution of the Roman republic. Folio (292 x 206mm). Spaces for initials with guide letters (without final blank, small wormtrack at inner margin of a few leaves, p6 and C4 detached, light repaired tear on leaf d2). Contemporary vellum (spine with early restoration, light staining, extremities a bit rubbed). Provenance: few early marginal annotations - manuscript title and portrait of the author (?) on title.
