The pages are part of the complete manual used in the Command Module Simulator at the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston, Texas. This page is from Section 2 titled: Boost-Insertions-TLI. The entire checklist, including this actual page, was used by all three Apollo 11 crew members: Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and myself… Neil has the command responsibility to initiate an abort if the launch profile or Translunar Injection deviated from the planned events outlined in this checklist section. The launch profile was the most intense training we as a crew performed together. The simulator teams would give us all types of warning messages and problems to solve during a simulated launch. The simulator was an excellent learning device and this checklist was an important tool to insure our correct performance. This training was a key step which enabled our flight to make the first lunar landing on July 20, 1969. Side 2-21 has the actual SIVB engine ignition for the TLI burn. Neil has made two time corrections to “37” and “55,” added the SIVB ECO time of “05:48,” then changed two angle values to an “8” and a “4.” I logged the three values for VI, HDOT, and HPAD during our last sim. Mike wrote in an additional step in the SIVB emergency cut-off section. Side 2-22 has the last TLI steps (where) I logged “3+05+01, 3+15+01, and 2:34:05 Redstone .” Single sheet, 5.5 by 8 inches.
