The splendid illustrations after Rubens include the engraved title with a portrait of Philip IV, a portrait of Ferdinand on horse back (after Rubens by Paulus Pontius , a view of Antwerp with the entry of the troops, triumphal arches, alegorical scenes, fireworks, and a bird's-eye-view of Antwerp. The Pompa introitus Ferdinandi stands today, as it did then, as one of the primary examples of a major artist working as a festival designer. And the book which commemorates the event is perhaps the most famous and magnificent of all fête books."
